Description
The 8.6BLK Selous Machined Expander projectiles are solid copper 338 caliber projectiles designed to expand at velocities between 1100FPS and 700FPS. This projectile is designed specifically to take full advantage of the additional rotational kinetic energy produced by 1:3 twist barrels. Testing has shown 950fps impacts produce immediate expansion and 19″ of penetration in calibrated clear ballistics gelatin. Observed permanent cavitation, during live tissue testing on a variety of animals, is massive. Despite the relatively high amount of rotational kinetic energy, the projectile is able to retain 100% of its mass post-expansion.
The projectiles are loaded in factory new Hornady brass (Q Headstamp)
